Free respite care is available upon request. Information and education about Alzheimer’s disease and related memory disorders is shared. Increased understanding through shared experiences, mutual support from other caregivers.

Early stage support groups provide information, discussion and inspiration through an honest exchange of how each are coping and continuing on with good and productive lives. If you are considering joining the early stage support group, contact a Heart of America staff (listed below) for an orientation meeting prior to attendance. The orientation meeting provides and opportunity to ask questions and insure the group is the right fit for your needs.

Meets the 1st Thursday – noon

Meet with others whose family member is experiencing dementia or Alzheimer’s. This support group is led by Chaplain Carole and Max Schut, social worker, in partnership with Alzheimer’s & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana. Meets Thursdays.

Family Caregivers Circle of Support Group- This FREE monthly group offers support, dialogue, connections with local resources, as well as educational opportunities around caregiving and self-care.The focus is on caring for parents with Alzheimer’s or other related dementia and learning how to cope with the depression, anxiety, and stress that is usually experienced. Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group is held every Tuesday from 10am-12pm, at the Alzheimer’s Care Resource Center in Lake Worth/West Palm Beach. Call 561-588-4545 for more information!
