Family Caregivers Circle of Support Group- This FREE monthly group offers support, dialogue, connections with local resources, as well as educational opportunities around caregiving and self-care.The focus is on caring for parents with Alzheimer’s or other related dementia and learning how to cope with the depression, anxiety, and stress that is usually experienced. Our support group meetings are a chance for everyone to share their experiences and express concerns. It also gives a chance to share ideas that have worked for other caregivers going through the same experience. Meetings are informal. You are welcome to bring your loved one with FTD, Arden Courts will provide respite care in a separate room. Please just let us know in advance if your loved one will attend.
Meetings are the third Sunday of every month.
One of the hardest aspects of caregiving is feeling trapped in a situation that nobody else can possibly understand. Caregiving takes significant time and effort and it can be overwhelming at times. Caregiver burnout is not simply a term — it is an actual condition that is increasing almost faster than the population of seniors and disabled adults in need of care.
You are not alone. Join one of our Caregiver Support groups to listen and learn from other professional and family caregivers, discuss your caregiving circumstances and stresses, and go through stress reduction tips and exercises with Executive Director Gary A. Powell. (If you would like to talk to someone privately, who will understand and help guide you, TCF also provides one-on-one and group support sessions in-office.)
