I facilitate a FREE monthly support group (not group therapy which is different) on the last Monday of every month from 6-7:15 pm for individuals and couples currently caring for someone with dementia or dementia-related issues. Typical diagnoses discussed are: Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Lewy Bodies, Huntington’s, or any other degenerative, chronic neurological condition that leads to memory and cognition complications. The caregiver support group is open to the public and provides information and a welcoming environment for discussing the challenges of being a caregiver in the community. Each session begins with a light meal and fellowship at 5:00 p.m. The meetings are topic focused with a guest speaker and include time for sharing in the group.
